The water resources ministers of Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia resumed on Tuesday 26/8/2014 the Sudan-hosted talks on Ethiopia’s renaissance dam.
The talks started on Monday 25/8/2014 in Khartoum.
It’s expected that Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia will sign a memorandum of understanding for boosting cooperation in all fields especially the water field.
The Khartoum Declaration is expected to be issued at the end to the talks, sources said.
Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan formed a tripartite technical committee last year to study the possible effects of Ethiopia’s dam.
The Ethiopian dam has been a bone of contention between Egypt and Ethiopia, as Egypt fears the dam will have damaging effects on its share of Nile water.
